Product description

Size:30-SNAILS

Ishimaki Thorn Nerite Snails (Clithon retropictus) are a largely unknown type of nerite snail that are native to a few coastal countries in Far East Asia. These peaceful snails have a highly variable range of patterns on its shell and are very attractive and useful eating scavengers that are great in aquariums with fish tank plants. These aquatic snails belong to the Nerite Snail family, which are widely considered the best eating snails in the hobby. They consume uneaten fish food, plus they clear off glass aquarium walls, plants, and decorations (such as cholla wood). They are peaceful and safe to keep with any nonaggressive aquarium animals (including dwarf shrimp, such as Amano Shrimp, Neocaridina shrimp, Caridina shrimp, etc.) and any live fish tank plant. They look particularly great against an aquarium mirror background or alongside hut aquarium decorations! These colorful snails are easy to care for and great candidates for your first aquarium. require saline water to reproduce and won’t overpopulate your home or desktop aquarium like other freshwater snails. They are perfectly suitable for planted aquariums. Some Nerite Snails are finicky about eating dry fish pellets, but typically enjoy spirulina, tablets, and other plant-based foods. “Nerite Snail” is sometimes misspelled as Narite Snail. While this snail can live in a wide variety of pH levels, it will live for much longer in alkaline water of over 7.0 pH. Although these snails are fantastic at clearing, an aquarium pump system (e.g. aquarium sump pump) is still required.
